Adventures In Art #31-Allied Arts Council Of Pincher Creek Juried Member Show At The Lebel Gallery

Lucky to have another painting accepted into this year’s Juried Members Exhibition.  So drove to Lees for the weekend to drop it off.  Found out I sold one of the big paintings there from last year!  😊. Les came for belated Thanksgiving supper and we had belated birthday pie with Maureen and Trent this morning before I left.  

Adventures In Art #30- Bredenbury Daycare Online Auction

 I contributed 2 packs of cards and helped raise $70 out of the total $8,370 for the Daycare!  ☺️

Adventure In Art #29- Primitive Firing Workshop With Janice In Martensville

Despite it being the first cold days of fall, I spent the last 2 days doing obvara, raku, saggar and horsehair pottery firings out at Janice’s in Martensville with 4 others.  So, so fun!

Alright, my pretties.  What shall we do with you?

Some obvara.

1,000 F was the sweet spot for these guys!

Some Saggar.

Some raku (with glass).

Some horsehair using Ghost Blue Interference Mica Powder mixed with terra sigillata.

Kelowna and Vernon

After leaving Victoria, I drove to Kelowna at a great Air B and B with a pool and hot tub for a few day which afforded me the luxury to do some painting in Kelowna and to go and check out the AiR in Vernon I have in March.  It looks amazing.  The next day I stopped at the Art Centre in Vernon and Pat Doyle was working!  She gave me a tour.  Omg!  It’s amazing…like the one in Fallbrook and it’ll be just down the hill from where I’ll be staying.  I’m already looking forward to taking advantage of all it will have to offer-pottery, glass, painting, drawing, printmaking!  It’s gonna be awesome!
