Post-Retirement Reading

Flatten The Curve

Dear God.   Life has changed so much in the last two weeks since I got home.  Corona virus.  Pandemic.   Self-isolation.   Social-distancing.   Quarantine.   School closures.   Economic turmoil.  Toilet paper hording.  Border closures.  So much uncertainty and unknowns.   Every day there’s something more bizarre and extreme.   It’s like a real life sci-fi/horror movie.   I hope one day soon we will look back on all the precautions that are being recommended and be glad that this is over!!

Full Circle

And so, another 3,293 km driven since Sunday, returns me to my “summer home”, as Grant says.  ðŸ˜‚

Sunday:  San Diego to Las Vegas (523 km)

Monday:  Las Vegas to Lava Hot Springs, Idaho (927.9 km)

Tuesday Lava Hot Springs to Fort Macleod (1,057 km)

Wednesday:  day of rest with Lee

Thursday:  Fort Macleod to Saskatoon (770.3 km)*
*including my 3 hour delay in Coaldale, Alberta after getting a 3/4 inch piece of glass in my tire and having to get it replace which meant picked up and delivered from Lethbridge and then spend an hour recalibraring the tire sensor.   That said, I am EVER grateful it turned out as it did....ie, it was during the morning, near a service station, in Canada!    This could have been way worse or inconvenient, other than it just being a 3 hour delay.   All my yoga paid off....Nikki would be proud!!  ðŸ˜‚

Two books on tape (“On Writing” by Stephen King and “The Fix” by David Ballducci) helped with many hours.   The driving conditions were perfect and the scenery was spectacular....even seeing the snow again wasn’t TOO jarring!

All is well in the condo (thank you Holfeld’s and Lisa), trip was safe and memorable.   All is well!   I am ready to see what the spring has in store!!
