March Musings

What a month it’s been.  So, so much to be grateful for!  The condo is terrific, Paint Out in Mission Trails Park, spent a day with Ward and Annie in La Jolla at the market and seal, sea lion and baby cormorant watching, painting class, pottery class, yoga, walks, teaching ecoprinting class, entered 2 paintings into the “Art Of The Avocado” competition in Fallbrook, dog/cats/housesitting, “3 Summers Of Lincoln” at La Jolla Playhouse, fond farewells-especially bittersweet as a return looks less certain than usual for next year at this point.  So, remaining days for final experiences with hopes that returning stays possible for the future.

Aloha: Pottery, People, Politics

“Aloha (/əˈloʊhɑː/ ə-LOH-hah, Hawaiian: [əˈlohə]) is the Hawaiian word for love, affection, peace, compassion and mercy, that is commonly used as a greeting. It has a deeper cultural and spiritual significance to native Hawaiians, for whom the term is used to define a force that holds together existence.”

That damn Diane O’Bannon!

Today was my last day in Fallbrook for pottery.  They took me to this wonderful Chinese restaurant, Peking Wok, in Bonsall, had reserved a room and gave me the most beautiful parting gifts.   Diane gave me a gorgeous lei, to say aloha…not good-bye.  Kim’s beautiful card and piece of her pottery, Joan’s card and her painting, Lloyd’s card and a bookmark of his photography and Celeste’s card.  Patrice and Jim were going to come but they both have Covid but she sent me a message yesterday to say goodbye.

Such wonderful people.  Such a great memory.

Because of the political turmoil my return is tenuous, so this departure is sadder than usual.  Such good people.  I’m such a lucky guy!
