Adventures In Art #53-Watercolor Workshop With Andy Evansen

A second workshop in Calgary this week upon Eudes’s recommendation with Andy Evansen.  Another totally unique style and different subject matter; this time, landscapes with strong influences from Joseph Zbukvic.   Value studies and blending colors using “Mr Bead”.  

Another reminder of how much there is to learn.  So enjoyable.

Adventures In Art #52- Watercolor Workshop With Eudes Correia

Another fantastic watercolor workshop with Eudes Correia again (my third), this time at the International Watercolor Festival in Calgary that Inna has organized. I’m always amazed that he remembers me…well my face, not my name, but I’ll take it.   Such a great guy.  Always learn so much from him.

Adventures In Art #51-Shellmouth Art Retreat

Jan Layh’s Artist Retreat has been on my radar for a few years and the wait was worth it.   What a phenomenal week being among art, artists, friends and fellowship.   There were 28 of us, 3 being newbies.  We were welcomed openly!   A real variety of experience, expertise and abilities.   Interesting people, interesting processes and a 3 hour kayak trip on the Assiniboine River, with the sun burn to prove it.  A phenomenal experience that I hope to experience again next year.  So grateful.

Adventures In Art #50-Soda Firing With Rob Froese

This was a great week at Red Deer Summer Series doing a soda firing workshop with Rob Froese.  I learned so much!  Much more agreeable and pleasant weather this week than in Medicine Hat!  A small class of only 6 ensured I got all my 14 pieces fired.  Great instructor!

We even got a wood fired pizza lunch one day.  Omg!  So good!!!

Ta da!  So pleased with the results.   Great experience!
