This is 61

Much to be grateful for on this birthday.  Woke up at Point No Point, cinnamon bun/almond croissant and coffee in bed, hiked to Sandcut Beach waterfall, latte at Shirley Delicious, went to the lighthouse, drove to Victoria for fish and chips, back to Lake Cowichan by sunset.   Life is good!  May it continue ever thus.

Point No Point Resort

Bill and Margot didn’t steer me wrong.  Lovely place for a pre-birthday escape.  Hot tub on deck ✔️  wood burning fireplace ✔️  Fancy restaurant ✔️. Cool hidden trails and beaches✔️   Life is good ✔️✔️

Mystic Beach

I’m so glad I stopped and did this hike.  It was amazing.  Muddy, lots of stumps, bit rough 2 km down (and then back up!😂) to it, but what a pay off at the end.   A clear, warm, amazing day at the bottom.  Not many people either.   I guess your day really can be all sunshine and rainbows!  Loved it!

Victoria Adventures

Heather’s play and an alcohol ink workshop kept me busy in Victoria the weekend of February 7/8.

Block Printing Workshop

2 day Block Printing Workshop with Kathie Fielding in Youbou this weekend.  She wasn’t much of a teacher but we made some cool stuff.  Reduction Method, Speedball Inks, carving tools…lots to learn.

Nanaimo

Nearly a bust on today’s road trip, but it’s so pretty it wasn’t too bad.   On a quest to find sea glass.  It was tough but found a bit.   Almond croissant place was sold out.  Hiking place hard to find.  Bit cool.  City reminded me or PA or Halifax.   Bit rough.   Might go back for the hikes I didn’t get to.  We’ll see.
