Beautiful Day For A Road Trip

Sunny, clear blue sky for my drive to Victoria today for a 35 year catchup with Heather! So great to see her again over brunch and lattes at The Breakwater!

Following her suggestions, I took the scenic route and looped home through Port Renfrew again, going through Sooke and driving along the ocean, stopping at Jordan River Beach for a 400 meter trek through the rainforest down to the beach.   Omg. Amazing. Stones, surf, sun, woodsmoke, driftwood, misty mountains in the background. Another amazing find!

And then…road side food truck tacos for supper…

with a view…watching whale spouts in the distance.

Priceless.

Truly.

Botanical Beach

Yesterday, Marjon, Zue and I drove to Botanical Beach at Port Renfrew.  I can’t even describe the beauty.  It’s right on the ocean, so the hike through the rainforest down to the beach was amazing.  We hiked along the beach and then along a path that cut back and forth through the rainforest and then back to paths that led down to more beaches.   The Pacific Northwest mist was really on display.  Again, truly beautiful.  And the mushrooms.  Omg, the mushrooms!  ðŸ˜‚  Crazy interesting!
